Pia Chaudhuri, former creative director at 72andSunny, has joined BMF as group creative director to continue to build and help diversify BMF’s creative output.
Chaudhuri is an award-winning, multidisciplinary CD with 15 years’ experience of working in specialist creative, experiential, digital, PR and social agencies, including four years at One Green Bean where she was promoted to ECD. Chaudhuri has worked on everything from a mechanical musical instrument (played in real time by the weather) for James Boag, to Australia’s first UGC documentary directed by acclaimed film director Gillian Armstrong for CommBank, and even created an unofficial floaty race at the Commonwealth Games for Optus.
As well, Chaudhuri has just recently been named Chair of the Impact Jury at this year’s AWARD Awards. She’s very passoniate about using creativity for good. Chaudhuri was the first ever creative, and one of 30 rising industry leaders, selected to receive a scholarship for the prestigious Marketing Academy Australia in 2017. And despite being an Art Director by trade, has written a novel and most recently, an award-winning screenplay.
BMF executive creative director Alex Derwin added: “As soon as Pia walked through the door I knew I wanted her to stick around. Smart, strategic, curious and a great collaborator, she immediately earned the respect of all parts of the agency. Not content with just making our work more interesting and diverse, she’s intent on doing the same for our industry. BMF is lucky to have her, and so is our industry.”
Chaudhuri added: “There are few agencies you walk into and immediately feel at home. I’m pleased to say BMF is one. I’m excited to be joining some of the nicest and most talented people in the industry, to help build on what is already an incredible creative legacy.”
