Bikesales has launched a New Bike Buyer’s Guide, a permanent resource featuring 25 hand-picked motorcycles across five categories.
The guide was prompted by platform data showing the average bike buyer spends 95 days researching and views 79 pages before purchasing. Each category, including adventure, learner, road, dirt and cruiser, includes a top pick to help riders narrow down their options.
But with more models, more categories and more choice than ever, finding the right one isn’t always straightforward. bikesales data showed the average bike buyer spends around 95 days researching, viewing an average of 79 pages across the platform before making a decision.
“Every rider has a different reason for getting on a bike,” said bikesales editor of bikes Dylan Ruddy.
“Some want the weekend escape, some want the daily thrill, and some are just getting started and want to know where to begin. The New Bike Buyer’s Guide is built around that – real riding lifestyles, not spec sheets. Our team has assessed them based on what actually matters in each category. The result is a shortlist riders can genuinely trust.”
Every shortlist – the top five in each category – and top pick is independently selected by bikesales’ expert reviewers with no commercial influence. Selections are made using category-specific criteria, with core considerations including value for money, handling, reliability and real-world usability.
“The journey to buying a bike should feel exciting, not overwhelming,” said Carsales head of content Ben Tyers.
“Whether someone is a seasoned rider exploring their next upgrade or figuring out where to start, the Guide gives them a trusted place to begin. It’s built on the same approach behind our New Car Buyer’s Guide – expert-led, evergreen content that’s editorially independent and designed around how people actually research and buy.”
