Carrie Bickmore’s departure from 10’s The Project has been big news; however, Bickmore isn’t just leaving her show. She also is leaving network 10.
A spokesperson for 10 confirmed to B&T that Bickmore is leaving the network, but they are definitely open to working with her in the future.
Bickmore cutting ties with the network will send the rumour mill into overdrive.
Sadly that pesky Nine executive squashed claims she’d up at Today. So, perhaps she really will end up taking over from Grimshaw’s reign on A Current Affair.
She could even end up hosting Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife! Anything is possible at this point now that Bickmore is a free agent.
Still, news of Bickmore’s departure from 10 is petty wild when you consider she has been with the network for over seventeen years. She came to fame on Rove and then was the face of The Project.
She’s the only original host left on The Project. Dave Hughes and Charlie Pickering both left the show years ago to pursue other projects.
Pickering famously headed off to The ABC, while Hughes stayed in the family with his show, Hughesy We Have A Problem.
Bickmore leaving Network 10 is the end of an era.
