Nolan Yu and Max Learmont had been awarded Gold at Cannes Young Lions Live.
Yu, senior account manager at OMD and Learmont, senior strategist at Speed, were awarded for their ‘Wake Up To A Better World’ campaign.
Placing Silver was Japan, and Bronze was Portugal, while the shortlist also included Norway, Columbia and the UK.
The Cannes Young Lion Media brief this year was focused on One Young World’s Annual Impact Report, and subsequent Impact Week campaign.
The campaign’s aim was to drive traffic to the Impact Hub on the organisation’s website, showcase the work of the Ambassador community and garner financial support for young leader initiatives through donations via the Impact Hub.
The brief also had a particular focus on content that would resonate with the organisation’s extensive social media network.
Yu and Learmont were originally awarded Gold in the Australian competition (pictured above). They are the only Aussie Young Lion team to be awarded in the global Cannes Lions Live competition.
They have been awarded a delegate pass to attend the 2022 Cannes Lions Festival, including accommodation in Cannes, and access to the On Young World Digital Summit, which will take place between July 22 and 25.
Other Gold winners included the UK for PR, Ecuador for Print, Ukraine for Design and Slovenia for Digital – where the Australian team from TBWA Sydney made it to the shortlist.
Norway won Gold in the Marketers category and Columbia for the Film category.
