In the lead up to next year’s Cairns Crocodiles Awards, B&T is going to share the work across the Asia Pacific region that caught our attention each month.
In December, there were wonderful campaigns by Cathay Pacific, Korean National Police Agency, Childhope and Milo from a region that, refreshingly, isn’t awash with Christmas ads..
All of these campaigns excellent entries for the 2026 Cairns Crocodiles Awards.
Here is the work that wowed B&T in the past month:
Korean National Police Agency, ‘Voice Wanted’, Cheil
Korean cops, in partnership with Cheil, have come up with a novel way to tackle the growing scourge of scam calls in the country.
It has focused on perpetrator’s voice to help solve crime, much in the way fingerprints have been used. To bring this to life, they have used the soundwaves of real life scammers to create virtual composite sketches for wanted posters, allowing people to learn more about scam call tactics by scanning a QR code. It’s clever and striking.
Milo, ‘See Games Equal’ Ogilvy Vietnam
For the Malaysian corner of B&T, this campaign really resonated. As someone who appreciates the skill of sepak takraw and the brawn of kabaddi, showcasing these lesser known (but popular) sports is a win in a region dominated by football and badminton.
The SEA Games showcases these sports at a high level, but public attention is very much on the major sports.
Milo wants to shine a spotlight on uniquely Southeast Asian sports, and B&T loves the way that the brand and Ogilvy has brought this to life.
Childhope Philippines, ‘Donate to View’, Ely Buendia & BBDO Guerrero
This beautifully crafted animation for the charity Childhope Philippines led fundraising efforts ahead of Christmas. It takes the singer-songwriter and Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia through an mini adventure in a city but cuts short and encourages viewers to scan a QR code to watch the rest of the film and donate.
Cathay Pacific, ‘Unpack Your 2025’, Leo Hong Kong
Cathay has taken a novel approach by chatting the journey of luggage in this neat spot. It invites members to relive their travel and lifestyle experiences with personalised digital experience designed exclusively for Cathay members.
