Residents of Canadian city Vancouver were left a little stunned this week when video of a flying chicken streaking across the skyline quickly became a social media smash.
However, the bird hadn’t fought back from centuries of domesticated breeding and, as it turns out, was an advanced animatronic chicken drone!
The stunt was the work of vegan nugget chicken brand Simulate Nuggs who claim to be the “world’s most advanced plant-based nuggets”.
The work of creative agency Rethink and animatronic firm SFX Studios, the campaign aimed to prove that if the brand could fool you with a fake chicken then you’d also be taken in by its faux nuggets fare.
Rethink creative chief Aaron Starkman commented: “It was so messed up yet perfectly on brief. We just couldn’t stop laughing at the premise to demonstrate the point that making amazing plant-based nuggets is a rare feat.”
