The Voice UK pulls in 2 million more viewers with Kylie Minogue

Aussie superstar Kylie Minogue helped pull in an extra two million viewers for the opening episode of The Voice UK’s third season on Saturday.

Minogue was appointed as one of the mentors on the hit show along with lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs Ricky Wilson.

The first episode, which aired on Saturday night UK time on BBC1, saw an average of 8.4 million viewers tune in to the blind auditions, 2 million more than the launch of the second season in 2013.

Charlotte Moore, BBC1 controller said she was thrilled with the response.

Minogue is set to join the panel for the third season of Nine’s The Voice Australia this year alongside, Ricky Martin, Joel Madden and new mentor will.I.am.

Hoping for a similar response to The Voice UK, Nine is due to start filming for the third season of The Voice Australia soon.
