Ten’s MasterChef: The Professionals has delivered a ratings trifecta in its first week for the network, with the third episode watched by 1.02 million viewers.

Last night’s show was the fourth most watched program, according to OzTam’s preliminary overnight metro ratings.

The program premiered with 1.165 million viewers on Sunday before the tennis match on Monday saw its audience dip to 1.019 million.

The Australian Open pulled 971,000 viewers onto Seven as the network’s soapy Home and Away won another 935,000.

A repeat of ABC’s New Tricks sat in ninth place with an audience of 831,000.

Nine’s only top 10 programs were Nine News, which sat in second with 1.163 million viewers, and A Current Affair with 912,000.

Nine played three different The Big Bang Theory episodes on Tuesday night, with the repeat proving the most popular with fans.

The repeat had 619,000 viewers compared to 607,000 viewers for the evening’s first episode and 506,000 for the second.

Seven News won again, taking number one with an audience of 1.192 million.

Ten’s Ten News at Five has received a boost, last night it sat in 10th place with 720,000 viewers.

Overall, Seven again proved the dominant network with 32.5% share of all free-to-air channels.

Nine came second with a share of 23% and was followed closely by Ten on 20.2%. The ABC took 17.6% while SBS claimed 6.7%.
