Data focus and departure of sales head prompts MCM restructure

The hunt is on for a new chief strategy and marketing officer at MCM Media after Matt Tindale’s decision to leave the company prompted a restructure.

Tindale will leave his national sales director role at MCM at the end of the month and will not be replaced.

Instead, a new head marketer to sit under the chief executive, Simon Joyce, will be hired with the national sales role to be split in Sydney.

As a result Luke Cook will take the Sydney sales director role and Nathan Young (pictured) has been appointed general manager of sales and operations. Jeanna Manifold, sales director, manages Melbourne.

Joyce said the restructure, which will commence in January 2013, was also driven by the industry’s thirst more data and insights on audiences.

“Online video is set to dominate the online market in 2013 and as the biggest provider of premium online video in Australia, we want to ensure we are better utilizing our understanding of our audiences across every aspect of the business so audiences and brands can benefit,” Joyce said.

MCM Media is also set to conduct a research project into its consumer brands in first quarter of 2013.
