UPDATED: The brain behind Coca-Cola’s ‘Share A Coke’ marketing campaign, Lucie Austin, is set to leave the Australian office to become marketing director for Europe.

A Coke spokesperson told B&T Austin will move to Coke's North West Europe and the Nordics Business Unit which is based in London.

Austin has been South Pacific marketing director for Coca-Cola for more than five years.

The spokesperson said a replacement has not yet been confirmed.

Austin was behind Coke’s award-winning ‘Share A Coke’ push which was pushed out globally following the campaigns local success.

In the second half of 2012 Coke launched a new music-focused version of Share a Coke. In an interview with B&T Austin said ‘Share a Coke and a Song’ can “absolutely” top the previous campaign.

To read more of that interview see B&T’s article: ‘Will Coke’s new push be as popular as last year’s?’.

Austin has previously worked at Arnott’s as marketing director and from 1999 to 2003 was marketing director of Boots Healthcare International.

More to come.
