I have a confession to make. As a Melbourne born-and-bred coffee addict, and at the risk of being publicly paraded and shamed, I have to admit I love 7-Eleven coffee. Not just love, I adore it.
Its molasses-dark colour and bitter taste has gotten me through many-tough shifts at my pre-journo vocation. Not least because it’s practically rocket fuel, but the fact too that it costs a mere buck – compared with staggering near-six-dollars most Melbourne coffees catch – which is enough to give anyone’s waning energy stores a boost.
Not surprisingly, I’m not the only one who feels this way. In fact, some 7-Eleven diehards are so deadset on the global convenience store’s bean offering that they’re willing to scrub their bodies with it.
That’s right, 7-Eleven has clued-in to the hysteria and obsession caused by their delicious cup of Joe – and the fact that coffee body scrubs are the rage right now – that they’re releasing an official 7-Eleven $1 Coffee Body Scrub.
The scrub comes via the CHEP Network, and is made from the same Arabica and Robusta beans found in every freshly ground 7-Eleven coffee.
The campaign is aimed at convincing Australia’s young coffee aficionados – aka “the uninitiated” as this true coffee aficionado refers to them – that the quality of 7-Eleven’s coffee is worthy of their taste buds.
The scrub will be sold exclusively via Adore Beauty from today, Tuesday 22 March, and will be promoted by Australian actor Olympia Valance who will be the face of the campaign.
Oh, and did I mention the coffee body scrub comes at humble price of $1, the same as the iconic coffee itself? You truly don’t know what you’re missing out on.
