Despite rumours swirling that Lisa Wilkinson is leaving 10 after she didn’t appear in a 2022 network promotion, 10 has confirmed to B&T, that Wilkinson isn’t going anywhere.
Lisa Wilkinson has been the name on everyone’s lips lately, particularly after the release of her book, It Wasn’t Meant To Be Like This – that has since launched quite a few headlines and rumours – even politician Mark Latham used parliamentary privilege to put in his two cents!
However, when Wilkinson didn’t appear in a promo for the network’s 2022 showcase, the rumour mill went into overdrive. News.com.au reported that Wilkinson was “conspicuously absent.” Meanwhile, Sky News reporter Caroline Marcus said there was, “no way,” Wilkinson’s absence from the reel wasn’t a “deliberate decision.”
Basically, there was tons of speculation!
However, Wilkinson fans can fear not – because 10 has exclusively confirmed to B&T that Wilkinson is staying at Network 10. After all, she did sign a multi-year deal with the network just last year.
10 clarified that the promo that aired last night is a cut-down version of a longer promo which will be on air later this week, and called the rumours of Wilkinson leaving as “completely false and misleading.”
So hopefully we will be seeing Wilkinson in the extended promo!
One thing is certain though, Wilkinson remains as relevant as ever.
