Independent media agency Yango has been appointed by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) as its strategic digital agency partner following a competitive tender process.
Under the new partnership, Yango will lead AWC’s generative engine optimisation (GEO) strategies. The mandate is focused on expanding AWC’s organic search footprint across Australia and international markets, driving audience growth, accelerating donor acquisition and securing digital visibility as AI-driven search continues to transform user behaviour.
Yango will deliver a tailored, scientific SEO framework designed to work with AWC’s internal digital, marketing and scientific teams. The framework ensures that content recommendations and technical site architecture optimise for both traditional search engines and AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, while maintaining strict adherence to AWC’s authoritative, science-backed standards.
“At Yango, our philosophy is simple: ‘People Focused. Results Driven’. Partnering with an organisation as impactful as the Australian Wildlife Conservancy is a true privilege. As the search landscape rapidly shifts toward AI-generated answers, staying visible requires a blend of rigorous technical foundation and human ingenuity. We are excited to combine our digital capability with AWC’s groundbreaking conservation mission to deliver clear, measurable organic growth,” said Yango organic director Hannah Mannion.
“As a science-informed organisation protecting more threatened species than any other non-government group in Australia, ensuring our digital presence reflects our authority and scientific credibility is vital. Yango demonstrated a clear understanding of our unique operational model and the evolving search environment. Their team’s strategic focus on GEO – without compromising our scientific integrity – makes them the ideal partner to help us engage new audiences, donors, and partners globally,” said AWC chief marketing and communications officer Ava Lawler.
The engagement commences immediately and follows a period of growth for Yango. The agency recently won media duties for SMEG and appointed former THE ICONIC marketer Georgia Thomas as chief strategy and growth officer.
