Whip Out Your Hideous Woolies For Canadian Club’s Bad Sweater Day

If you’re secretly harbouring away all the horrendous knitted cardigans your gran gives you every Christmas, now is the time to strut around and show off their ugliness.

Canadian Club knows the dismal feeling of ugly jumpers back in its homeland all too well, and with the abundance of Canadians travelling to Australia and vice versa, the whisky brand found it fitting to bring the bad sweaters here.

“Canada, USA and even the UK celebrate bad sweaters in the winter months, but in Australia, by the time it rolls around to the frosty season they stay buried under the bed in their winter woolies,” said Tiffany Madsen, marketing manager at Canadian Club.

“We didn’t want Aussies to miss out on the ugly fun so we decided to throw Australia its very own Bad Sweater Day during winter.

“Aussies have fallen in love with Canadian Club as the refreshing alternative to beer. On Bad Sweater Day we hope our fans will embrace another one of the joys of winter and rock an ugly, preferably knitted, sweater.”

Canadian Club is hooking up with KIISFM’s Kyle & Jackie O again for the campaign. The brand teamed up with the radio duo in 2015 for the campaign, which snowballed and saw a number of radio listeners join in on the bad sweater movement.

Bad Sweater Day is Friday, June 24.
