Wednesday TV Wrap: Hard Quiz Answers The Big Questions For Aunty

The pandemic has proven a boon for the ABC’s comedy shows and, again, shown to TV bosses that viewers want a laugh with Hard Quiz a Wednesday night stand out.

The Tom Gleeson/Gold Logie winner-fronted quiz show pulled 705,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers and was the seventh most-watched show of the night.

It was ably supported by Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell that laughed its way to 585,000.

The Block (828,000) again pushed Nine to an evening’s win. The network pulling 29.3 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels).

That left Seven with 27.2 per cent, the ABC had 19.3 per cent, 10 did 16.7 per cent and SBS had 7.5 per cent.

In the battle of the news bulletins, Seven’s 6pm outing had 1.049 million, Nine did 1.017 million, the ABC at 7pm pulled 773,000 and 10 News First had 355,000.

ACA managed 691,000, the ABC’s 7.30 did 654,000 and 10’s The Project had 525,000.

Other highlights for Seven included: Home And Away (581,000), The Chase (573,000) and two episodes of Highway Patrol (449,000 and 443,000 respectively).

Nine’s Hot Seat did 507,000.

Other standouts for the ABC included Planet America (430,000) and a repeat of Utopia (356,000).
