Waverley Council has invited Sydneysiders to rediscover the fun, action and beauty of Bondi, whilst also promoting a series of upcoming activations through a new campaign.
‘The Bondi Feeling’ is a multi-faceted initiative showcasing the best of the iconic seaside community and rolling out from today, comprising advertising, digital engagement, PR, events and bespoke branding.
“Bondi is more than just a place—it’s a feeling,” Waverley mayor Will Nemesh said.
“This campaign will remind people just how unique and special that feeling is and encourage them to get back to Bondi, with something for everyone to enjoy.
“Whether it’s spending time in the sun, hitting the surf, catching up with friends and family, having a meal or a pint, doing some shopping or focusing on health and wellness, come and immerse yourself in that unbeatable Bondi feeling.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to encourage everyone to get amongst all the wonderful things to see, do and experience in Bondi.”
Council has supercharged its schedule of local events across the next several months, adding new and returning events that encapsulate the area’s liveliness, including: Bondi Live – bands and DJs, family friendly performances, roving entertainers and markets, from the afternoon into the night on Saturday 14 March; Bondi Firelight – chill music, toasted marshmallows and intimate bonfires on the sand at disk on Thursday 9 April; movies at the park – kick back beneath the stars to catch a flick with family and friends on Saturday 2 May; and Saturday at the park – A day of facepainting, entertainment, a petting zoo and free ice cream (and coffee for the parents) on Saturday 6 June.
“That’s just for starters,” added Nemesh.
“Council is committed to backing Bondi locals and businesses, and doing all it can to support them to recover and thrive. We have even more exciting plans in store.”
The events and activations sit alongside dedicated business support initiatives and a destination marketing-style campaign.
Local illustrator Beck Feiner has been commissioned to create a distinct hero graphic capturing the essence of ‘The Bondi Feeling’. It will feature in traditional and digital advertising and inspire long-lasting creative marketing executions.
Over coming months, prominent locals as well as Sydneysiders with a special connection to the area will share what ‘The Bondi Feeling’ means to them in ads and editorial.
And an army of digital creators will descend on the area to experience the best of hospitality, retail, relaxation and wellness to amplify the array of businesses catering to every possible need and want.
“This is a fantastic way to get people spending time and money in Bondi again,” concluded Emmanuel Constantinou, Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce president.
“It will bring a welcome boost to the local economy that’s going to benefit both locals and businesses alike.”
