Following revelations on B&T yesterday that some of the Christmas ads for UK retailers had caused a furore that included claims of racism and Paddington Bear being told to “f@ck himself” comes some sweeter spots from grocery chains Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.
Sainsbury’s has unveiled its first Christmas work courtesy of Wieden & Kennedy London who won the account last year from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO who had held it for 35 years.
The ad (below) features singing members of the public and Sainsbury’s staff all interspersed with shots of food. Check out the spot below.
Waitrose too have adopted a wintery back and white feel for its annual Christmas spot that features strangers being snowed in at a quaint English pub for Christmas.
