Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann (main photo) today announced key partnerships and schedule of events for VOGUE CODES 2018.
VOGUE CODES 2018 returns with an expanded program of events and an impressive line-up of local and international speakers, designed to inspire women to be creators of the digital future and encourage female innovation.
Vogue Australia, in partnership with Westpac, will hold the VOGUE CODES 2018 Summit in Melbourne on Tuesday 12 June and in Sydney on Friday 22 June. VOGUE CODES Live, aimed at young tech-minded women early in their careers, returns and will be held on Saturday 23 June followed by VOGUE CODES: KIDS on Sunday 24 June.
New to the program of events is breakfast series, VOGUE CODES In Conversation, presented by Audi, being held in Melbourne on Wednesday 13 June and in Sydney on Thursday 14 June.
Speakers participating in this year’s events include global head of fashion at Instagram Eva Chen, founder and CEO of Samasource and LXMI Leila Janah, head of strategy and leadership at Uber Meena Harris, co-founder of Envato and CEO/co-founder of Hey Tiger Cyan Ta’eed, creator of Go-To Skincare Zoë Foster Blake and Canva co-founder and CEO Melanie Perkins.
McCann said: “VOGUE CODES is our crusade to see women empowered by technology, not disabled by it. The statistics of female participation in the commercial and education tech-sectors are still appalling and our hope is that by challenging stereotypes and presenting women and young girls with panels of incredible female role models, a successful career in technology will be something future generations won’t think twice about.
“The response to VOGUE CODES since we launched the initiative two years ago has been overwhelmingly positive with tickets to this year’s events selling fast – two of them are already sold out. We are particularly looking forward to bringing the VOGUE CODES Summit to Melbourne for the first time this year.
“We’re delighted to have Westpac return as presenting partner for VOGUE CODES 2018 along with our supporting partner HP, and that Audi has come on board for our breakfast series this year. We are all committed to making this a highly successful campaign which really makes a difference.”
Westpac’s general manager, business integration Anastasia Cammaroto said: “We’re proud to be partnering with Vogue Australia on VOGUE CODES for the third consecutive year. This year our focus is on something I’m really passionate about – building the next generation of female scientists, engineers and mathematicians, as well as technologists by showcasing the people that inspire them. Westpac is committed to addressing the gender imbalance in the technology industry and our partnership with VOGUE CODES is another way we can help break down the stereotypes and make roles in technology more attractive to women and girls.”
VOGUE CODES was launched by Vogue Australia in 2016 to encourage women to be empowered by technology in an effort to see more women pursue careers in tech-related industries and be the creators of the digital future.
HP returns as supporting partner of VOGUE CODES 2018.
