WPP Media has appointed Nancy Lan to lead Mindshare’s portfolio Sydney‑based clients including Unilever, DAZN (Foxtel), IKEA, uBank and Blackmores. She effectively fills the void left by Kate O’Ryan-Roeder, who left Mindshare to become Havas Media chief executive this year.
Lan joins with more than 20 years’ global leadership experience across Australia, Asia and Europe. She is recognised as a trusted adviser to boards and C‑suite leaders, bringing deep client‑side, media owner and agency expertise.
Most recently, Lan served as head of retail, partnerships and revenue growth at Virgin Australia where she launched the airline’s long‑haul partnership with Qatar Airways, strengthened the partnership with the AFL and built the business’ retail media strategy to unlock new enterprise‑wide revenue streams.
Prior to this, Lan held senior roles across Publicis Groupe globally, including national managing director of Starcom Australia, where she oversaw a team of 130 and secured major new business including TPG Telecom, Tourism Tasmania, Pfizer and Miele. She also led transformation and capability growth through leadership roles in Shanghai and London.
As client managing director, Lan will lead client teams to deliver connected, growth‑driving media solutions while shaping high performance culture and elevating the commercial and strategic capabilities across Mindshare’s clients.
