Two of Australia’s major speedway venues, Valvoline Raceway & Toowoomba Speedwayraising, will raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) through two special Pink Speedway nights and a speedway Legend car that has been painted and decaled to honour the NBFC to help the organisation move one step closer towards its goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

In fact, the car has been numbered 2030 for this very reason.

NBCF is Australia’s leading community-supported organisation dedicated to funding high quality research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.

When NBCF was founded in 1994, 30 per cent of women diagnosed with breast cancer passed away from the disease. In 20 years, this figure has halved.

This achievement is primarily due to research – the most effective way to improve the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer – and the support of community fundraisers like Valvoline Raceway & Toowoomba Speedway.

Moana Wood, individual giving and community fundraising manager, encouraged the speedway community to support the ‘Turning Speedway Pink’ and Pink Ribbon Legend Car.

“Every dollar raised helps take NBCF one step closer towards our goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. We’ve made significant progress since 1994 but, the work is far from over. We’re now striving to accelerate the delivery of research results to and reduce the suffering caused by breast cancer,” said Wood.
