Game shows are well and truly back in the weekly ratings, with Tipping Point Australia and The Chase Australia placing comfortably inside the top five in last nights ratings.
Tipping Point Australia came in third overall with a Total TV National Reach of 1,579,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 866,000. The Chase Australia landed fourth on channel Seven with a national reach of 1,498,000 and an average audience of 748,000 average.
Nine’s Events That Changed Australia tackled the fight for marriage equality, one of the most divisive and emotional debates in recent Australian history. It traced the cultural shifts and key figures that put the country’s so-called “fair go” spirit to the test. It had a national reach of 1,304,000 and an average audience of 478,000.
On Seven, MasterChef Australia came in tenth with a national reach of 1,108,000 and an average audience 695,000. It was a brutal night in the kitchen, with the bottom five contestants thrown into the Time vs Ingredients elimination challenge. The challenge had four mystery pantries hidden under black cloths, revealed one by one every 15 minutes.
The longer contestants waited, the better the ingredients. Among those Unfortunately, Lydia couldn’t survive the pressure. Despite standout moments earlier in the competition her elimination dish wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition.
ABC’s Gruen landed 14th with a national reach of 961,000 and an average audience 676,000. In last night’s episode Wil Anderson, Todd Sampson and Russel Howcroft were joined by Carolyn Miller and Renata Yannoulis.
