Last night, MAFS won the Ratings for Nine again, following its launch on Monday night. As MAFS season returns, topping the Ratings is a trend we expect to see for the season.
Seven‘s Australian Idol‘s National Average Audience numbers slipped after its launch on Monday night.
ABC‘s Dr Karl’s How Things Work raked in a National Average Audience of 486,000.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! won the Ratings for Channel 10, bringing in a National Average Audience of 570,000.
MAFS’ episode two unveiled Mel and Luke’s wedding.
Luke is a 30-year-old farmer who has put his love life on hold for many years following the death of his father. Now that he’s ready for a relationship again, he’s told MAFS experts that he’s looking for a feminine “girly girl”. His match, Mel, says she’s “a pinky girl looking to find my blue,” i.e. a rugged man to treat her like a princess and build furniture.
They begin their wedding days gushing about romcoms and fairytales; it’s off to a perfect start. Until Luke makes his first non-Prince Charming move.
He’s heading to the wedding ceremony when he realises he’s forgotten the rings. Luke and his sisters go back to collect them, leaving Mel at the wedding venue wondering where he is.
Finally, Luke arrives and has to power walk his way to his own wedding ceremony, profusely apologising – Mel has been waiting at the aisle for him.
“That experience for me I feel like was a bit ruined,” she said.
Then, Luke spits his gum out while standing in front of Mel, about to make his vows.
“I just don’t feel like I got my fairytale. I don’t feel like Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail,’ she sobbed.
During their photoshoot, Mel shared her her feelings with Luke, who is sympathetic. He apologises again, but it does little to lift her mood.
