Seven’s Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games coverage was the standout entertainment of Monday’s ratings, taking three spots inside the top ten.
The evening session led the charge, coming in at third with a Total TV National Reach of 2,146,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 874,000.
The night session came in just behind at fourth with a national reach of 2,029,000 and an average audience of 885,000.
A third block of Commonwealth Games content, the day’s highlights package, rounded out the night’s top 10 in ninth position, pulling a reach of 1,494,000 and an average audience of 533,000.
The coverage had plenty to celebrate on the medal front. Australian swimmer Rose Davies won gold in the 10,000m, while gymnast Kate McDonald claimed gold on the uneven bars. The results keep Australia comfortably on top of the overall medal tally, with 59 medals in total, 26 of which are gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Nine’s Travel Guides continued its run, landing at six with a national reach of 1,645,000 and an average audience of 867,000. Monday’s episode saw the guides head deep into outback Queensland, saddling up at the rodeo, dipping a toe in the billabong, digging for dinosaur fossils and touring the Qantas museum.
Nine’s Tipping Point Australia and Seven’s The Chase Australia also performed well, sitting at seventh and eighth for respectively. Tipping Point Australia boasted a national reach of 1,612,000 and an average audience of 873,000. Rival format The Chase Australia had a national reach of 1,525,000 and an average audience of 715,000.
Over on Ten, MasterChef Australia locked in its final two contestants after an emotional elimination challenge, where cooks worked with ingredients chosen by loved ones back home. The top three includes Vinnie, Aaron and Petro.
Meanwhile, ABC’s Four Corners opened the first instalment of an investigation into food packaging, scrutinising how honestly brands like Leggo’s and Hoyts Food represent their products to consumers on shelf.
