The two-horse race between Nine’s The Block and Seven’s My Kitchen Rules could not be much closer than Tuesday prime time viewing.
The Block attracted 1.18 million average viewers to MKR’s 1.06 million — a difference of only 119,000. In terms of reach it was even tighter, The Block reached 50,000 more Aussies than its cooking rival.
Yesterday, MKR cooked up a win in this see-sawing contest between two reality TV juggernauts.
A show that has probably slipped under the radar the past two weeks, but attracted solid numbers is Nine’s 1 Euro House (pictured above).
In its second week it is a show where interior designers Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer transform a dilapidated one-euro property in the Italian village of Castronovo into a spectacular dream home.
It reached an audience of 1.39 million but only 557,000 stayed along for the whole ride.
