It’s a Sydney Comedy Festival like no other this year, with festival-goers offered a new way of getting to and from shows without having to get out of bed.
Festival partner Travelodge Hotels has developed a novel mode of transport, the ‘Ubed’, which is picking up festival-goers in central Sydney and deliver them to the Opera House Gala that’s on over the first two nights to kick off the festival.
The rickshaw-style bike has a full-size, in-built bed, and will take to the streets, providing comfort and relaxation for its passengers, right up to theatre doors.
If a horizontal ride into the city complete with pillow and doona doesn’t tick enough boxes, passengers will ensure their chuckle levels are high pre-show with an extra dose of comedy along the way.
Up-and-coming Australian comedian Becky Lucas will join passengers for the ride, delivering bedside jokes to get the laughter endorphins pumping ahead of the main event.
Naps are encouraged and selfie sticks provided, but pyjamas are not included.
