Miami Ad School has announced that award-winning creative DDB senior copywriter Damian Martinez will teach a Brand Story Writing course, while Maud designer Sunny Hwang will teach a Creative Toolbox course for social media.
The two courses are part of the school’s Social Media boot camp, but they can be booked individually. The courses are taught in weekly sessions over 10 weeks and will commence on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 October.
Costs are $1,500 each or $2,500 for a two-course package.
Martinez, originally from Buenos Aires, has won several global awards with his creative partner Nicolas Smith, including at Cannes Lions, the D&AD Awards, the Clio, the London International Awards and the Effies.
Martinez said it was a great initiative by Miami Ad School to teach a copywriting course dedicated to social media.
“Fully-skilled social media talent is hard to find,” he said.
“Data analysis and strategy skills are important, but sound, fresh copywriting and art direction skills will give these students the edge.”
Hwang said she was excited to join the Miami Ad School team.
“The two courses are designed to complement each other,” she said.
“Students will learn about creative problem solving processes in the Brand Story Writing course, while the Creative Toolbox course will teach them up how to execute their ideas in a visually impactful way.”
