TikTok is helping cut down on decision paralysis with the What To Watch hub – the home of the latest TV and movie recommendations.
By searching ‘what to watch’ or #WhatToWatch on TikTok, users will be served up clips, reviews, recaps, fan theories, and hot takes from over 130 Australian creators, free-to-air TV broadcasters, movie studios, and streaming services.
From new hit TV shows and #BookTok adaptations taking over the small screen, to cult classics making a resurgence, TikTok is where entertainment is discovered, shared, and shaped.
An average of 6.5 million posts about film and TV were shared every day on TikTok in 2025, a reflection of how deeply fans around the world engage with entertainment content on the platform.
Some of the biggest TV shows on TikTok in Australia in 2026 include reality juggernaut Love Island, the final season of Stranger Things, and the hit Japanese manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, while the hit 2021 movie Legally Blonde made a comeback thanks to the new series Elle premiering on Amazon Prime Video.
To kick-start the recommendations, three Australian entertainment creators have shared their top TV shows, movies, and rewatches.

X2: X-Men United (Disney+): “With Avengers: Doomsday bringing back some of the original X-Men cast, now is the perfect time to revisit X2, the strongest of the original trilogy and a great reminder of why these characters have remained so iconic to this day.”

Tony (in cinemas): “I fell in love with this brutal but honest portrait of Anthony Bourdain as a young man. It’s reminiscent of how biopics used to feel, with a banging soundtrack to match.”
The Secret Garden (Netflix): “The 1993 version with its haunting landscapes, and unforgettable story of a childhood lost and found, is a classic for me. The ending always brings a tear to my eye.”

The Boroughs (Netflix): “If you’re missing the world of Stranger Things, this series produced by the Duffer Brothers follows a group of unlikely heroes living in a seemingly perfect retirement community who uncover a dark supernatural secret. It’s a fun mix of mystery, horror, humour, and emotional storytelling that had me on the edge of my seat!”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (in cinemas): “One of my most anticipated films of the year that I’d absolutely recommend seeing on the big screen. It takes Tom Holland’s Peter Parker into a much more raw and emotional chapter that actually feels like a new beginning for Spider-Man in the MCU.”
