The Bachelors Handbag now carries more than a roast chook.

Ever wondered what to do with that empty rotisserie roast chicken bag aside from binning it? Creative agency Thinkerbell has been busy coming up with ideas to turn yesterday’s trash into tomorrow’s collector item.

The agency launched an internal creative collective called Size 1, to turn the local chickenbag into this Summer’s must have accessory.

It has launched ‘The Bachelor’s Handbag’ – a colloquial term for the old tradie’s handbag or bachelor’s briefcase.

The crossbody utility bag was inspired by Australia’s rotisserie chicken culture and was conceived by Size 11, a union of like-minded creative individuals that consists of Vince Usher (Lead Brand Thinker), Jack Burton (Lead Tinker), Lucas Fowler (Lead Tinker) and Taylor York (National Head Earned Thinker).

The Bachelor’s Handbag is being sold for $34.99 (plus GST and delivery costs). One of its earliest customers was none other than Nine’s Karl Stefanovic, who wore it on The Today Show, although Nine has remained tight lipped about whether the accessory will make a stunning appearance on its reboot of The Bachelor.

“We can’t claim to have invented the colloquialism, you’ve gotta thank the folks of Deniliquin for that… But we’re unashamed to say that we’re bringing The Bachelor’s Handbag to life as streetwear’s latest grail piece and is up there with the greatest feats of Australian design,”said Vince Usher, creative director of Size 11.

“Just you wait, it’s bound to be featured alongside Vegemite, Hills’ Hoist and WiFi, in the Powerhouse Museum some day.”

Size 11 said the homage to chook wrappers include some unique features, including the classic quick access seal to keep betting slips, Opal Cards and rizlas at bay.

  • Bespoke Satin Strap, Designed for Comfort: Ensuring ease of use in either side holster or cross body configuration, our bespoke satin strap is designed to slide smoothly across ones’ skin. Perfect for long hours spent hakking at the rav
  • Durable Thermoplastic Polymer Bag with Generous Capacity: The Bachelor’s Handbag boasts a premium 160-micron thermoplastic polymer construction, making the bag more durable than any other rotisserie inspired bag on the market. Added durability allows for ample space to carry all of your essential items.
  • Quick Access Seal: Designed for practicality, the bag can be securely sealed and easily accessed via Size 11’s bespoke micro-connective fibre technology, protecting your belongings and allowing quick access to whatever you need at both work or play.
  • Classic Roast Chicken Flame Design: In homage to its inspiration, the bag features a classic roast chicken flame design, reminiscent of Australia’s vibrant rotisserie chicken culture.

The bachelors of B&T plan to take a look at Thinkerbell’s latest creation at The Bachelor’s Handbag website.
