There You Have It! All The Winners From B&T’s Women In Media Awards 2021 Revealed!

The glitz and glam of B&T’s Women in Media Awards 2021 have graced the laptop screens of 1,000-plus industry folk to recognise and celebrate the very best females who work within it.

Presented by the generous folk over at Are Media for a sixth (yes, sixth!) year in a row, our Women in Media Awards once again pivoted into the virtual arena while Gladys tries to shoo away the spicy cough here in NSW.

Kumi Taguchi, host of SBS’s flagship current affairs program, Insight, did a fab job leading proceedings as MC, with Are Media CEO Jane Huxley imparting her wisdom and advice to attendees in a cameo keynote appearance.

A grand total of 26 gongs were handed out to some seriously exceptional females during the virtual ceremony, with freelance investigative journalist Nina Funnell awarded three trophies.

Funnell, who launched one of the most important campaigns in Australian history, #LetHerSpeak, won both the Glass Ceiling Award and the Journalist/Producer category, before being named Woman of the Year.

Meanwhile, Melinda Geertz, who only recently stepped down as Leo Burnett Australia’s CEO, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Nine’s Tina Andrew earned the People’s Choice award.

The event also included the announcement of B&T’s annual Women in Media Power List, with OMD Australia’s outgoing chief executive, Aimee Buchanan, claiming the number one ranking.

Check out the full list of Women in Media Award winners via THIS SPECIAL ONLINE BOOKLET. We’ve also created one for the Women in Media Power List, which you can view HERE.

A huge thanks to all of this year’s incredible sponsors! We couldn’t have pulled together such a special awards program without your unwavering support.
