Building on last year’s campaign, this chapter of Telstra’s ‘Together is for Christmas’ focuses on finding your own groove amid the traditions of Christmas.

Directed by Steve Rogers from Revolver, in his first animated project, and in partnership with animation company Mathematic, the film tells a story about two ill-fitting souls—one, a ghost, and the other, a girl who prefers black to the bright colours of Christmas —who find each other when it matters most.

The campaign extends into Telstra’s stores, bringing the brand’s ambition to life through retail experiences and customer giveaways, with merchandise created to go with the platform.

The hero platform features one 60-second spot and one 15-second spot.

“At its heart, this campaign is about connection: the kind that transcends distance, differences, and even tradition. It’s about finding your people, whoever and wherever they are, and celebrating the joy of being together. And as a 90’s music lover the track works so perfectly with the gorgeous story,” Alita McMenamin, Telstra head of brand and marketing communications, said.

“We just wanted to create a story with a genuine Christmas soul, without leaning on all the expected tropes. Massive thanks to Steve, Revolver and the Mathematic team who’ve put so much into the beautiful film,” Micah Walker, chief creative officer of Bear Meets Eagle On Fire (BMEOF), said.

“The story of connection rings especially true at Christmas, and it underpins the season for Telstra. What a privilege to work with such a talented team to bring it to life,” Hanne Haugen, business lead at BMEOF added.
