Taste.com.au Launches Recipe To Cart To Heighten Coles’ Online Shopping

NewsLifeMedia’s Taste.com.au has launched Recipe to Cart which allows users to shop from Australia’s largest online resource of recipes directly with Coles online.

The biggest project of its kind, all of Taste.com.au’s 40,000 recipes and aggregated shopping lists are now able to be shopped directly with Coles online nationally. Users can shop ingredients from Taste.com.au recipes straight to their Coles online shopping trolley and with a couple of clicks ingredients are delivered directly to their door.

Taste.com.au’s continued digital innovation is also making Christmas planning even easier with the introduction of the new seasonal Christmas Menu Planner which provides inspiration to suit every type of cook with any budget while taking the stress out of planning seasonal events.

Users will now get even more value from the site with recipe to cart and the seasonal menu planner. It means that we can now truly deliver an end-to-end solution from recipe inspiration to the kitchen, completing the ability to plan, shop, cook and share with Taste.com.au.

Coles marketing and store development director Simon McDowell said: “Recipe to Cart and the launch of the Christmas Menu Planner provide the perfect solution for our often time-poor shoppers who are looking for someone to help them with their Christmas shopping and tick another task off their ever expanding Christmas list. Coles’ partnership with Taste.com.au allows us to deliver a truly personal digital experience from meal and budget planning, recipe inspiration through to bench top delivery and is the perfect shopping solution for a stress free and delicious Christmas.”

How does Recipe to Cart work?

Step 1:   Select the ingredients needed from your chosen recipes on Taste.com.au or members can add to their Taste.com.au shopping list

Step 2:   Select ‘Shop Ingredients Now’

Step 3:   Recipe ingredients are dynamically matched to Coles products and ingredients to buy

Step 4:   Log in to Coles online to complete the order and delivery

Director of Taste.com.au Prue Cox said: “We have over 825,000 Taste.com.au members and they are a wonderfully vocal community. They have been crying out for the ability to shop directly from Taste.com.au and I’m so pleased that we are delivering this functionality for them. There are over 100,000 existing Taste.com.au member shopping lists already set up which we have migrated to the new look multiple recipe shopping list to enable a full weekly shop with the press of a button straight to their homes.”

The recipe to cart project included addressing a multitude of data, configuration, implementation and testing – both platform and user. Design, development, testing and implementation across desktop and mobile sites for ingredient listings to output from recipe to shopping list to Coles online were all completed in-house by the Taste.com.au product team.

Data matching of over 5,500 Taste.com.au recipe ingredients were also dynamically matched to Coles product ranging nationally.

Taste.com.au reaches 6,277,000 people  per month according to emma figures from September 2014. This covers the website, magazine and newspaper lift-outs.
