Boomtown, the media collective representing the nearly 10 million people living in regional Australia, today announced its final Masterclass for 2025, ending the year with a refreshed format and insights from two of its most passionate regional advocates.
Registrations are now open for the online summer Masterclass, to be held on Tuesday, November 19, delivering a revamped format, including fresh data, new case studies and a focus on media channel opportunities.
The Masterclass will also showcase new Boomtown videos featuring renowned Australian demographer, Bernard Salt AM.
The November masterclass, moderated by The Ideas Business Founder, Wade Kingsley, will provide insights from two media agency leaders, Enigma Media managing director, Amy Dascanio, and Pearman Media group business director, Tara Lamond.
Dascanio is an experienced media and marketing leader, specialising in client leadership, media operations and full-funnel media planning and buying. With 24 years’ experience across Zenith, Mindshare, and MediaCom, she brings a deep understanding of how regional media can drive business growth for clients.
As managing director, Media of independent agency Enigma, founded in Newcastle, she has spent the past decade overseeing a national media product that is truly channel agnostic, fostering a culture that thinks full funnel across broadcast, digital, performance, and data. Having traded the city life for Newcastle, Dascanio is a passionate advocate for the power of regional media and its growing role in helping brands thrive in the current media landscape.
Lamond brings more than 20 years’ media experience to the panel, with a deep understanding of both metropolitan and regional markets. Having grown up in regional NSW, Tara has a personal appreciation for the strength and spending power of regional communities, using her insights to plan and buy regional media campaigns for a range of Pearman Media clients.
Prior to joining Pearman, Lamond held senior advertising roles at National Geographic Channel and Fox International Channels. She was also the Strategic Marketing Manager for Foxtel’s advertising team and an Advertising Manager with News Limited.
Commenting on the upcoming Masterclass, Boomtown Marketing Lead, Francesca Ryan, said: ““Our final Masterclass for 2025 will also bring a fresh look and feel to our series. As an organisation, we’re committed to listening to the industry and updating our education offering to keep it modern, innovative and relevant – we’re excited to launch this new look for our popular series.
“Our Masterclass series is designed to help agencies and brands unlock the potential of regional audiences. Both Amy and Tara are passionate about regional Australia and bring a deep understanding of both living and working in Boomtown to the panel.”
Boomtown masterclasses have become a critical part of education and professional development for the Australian media industry, training more than 2,000 Australian marketing professionals on the benefits of advertising in regional Australia. The masterclasses, combined with Boomtown’s ongoing campaign efforts, have helped to significantly increase regional advertising spend – the national regional advertising dollar share has jumped almost 40% since the collective’s inception.
The Boomtown summer Masterclass will be held online on Tuesday, November 19, at 10am AEDT.
