David Campbell has departed as head of Melbourne and group integration at Starcom, following a string of client losses.
B&T understands that Campbell’s departure was his choice, and he resigned from the role but it happened within the month, and the agency lost its lucrative account with employment marketplace SEEK.
UM Media ended up recruiting SEEK after a competitive pitch process. Previously, Starcom had held the account since 2014.
Meanwhile, Starcom also saw Ego Pharmaceuticals head over Half Dome in April. Even mattress chain Snooze, who has been with Starcom for over a decade, is rumoured to be putting their relationship to bed.
Campbell’s role at Starcom was newly created. He was charged with leading the Melbourne office, while also further enhancing the agency’s group marketing integration services.
Starcom CEO, Nick Keenan, said: “I’d like to thank David for the past three and a half years he has been a part of the Starcom team. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Campbell previously was at OMD and Vizeum.
