How Social Media Reacted To Ten’s Bachelor In Paradise

Ten’s new reality romp, Bachelor In Paradise, isn’t exactly killing it in the ratings, pulling just 656,000 viewers last night for its second episode.

Although, it does appear to be faring a bit better on social media, if data from social media insights firm Meltwater proves anything.

As expected, most of the social conversations centred around contestants Jake, Tara, Davey and Brett. However, Laurina’s date card brought Blake back into the limelight after their muddy date, taking the medal for pash number two.

The second episode took a slight dive in social conversations last night. Many people were asking for Apollo, while others questioned the state of Michael’s singlet game. There was an eight per cent decrease in social conversations compared to Sunday’s premiere.

Social media coverage peaked at more than 1900 mentions on the night of the first rose ceremony across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and online blogs.

When it comes to the show’s villain, Brett Moore, his alliance with Tara and his supposed relationship off-Island with Stephanie Boulton did not sit well with Australian viewers.

If and when Steph arrives, she will have some questions that need answering. Not even Tara could save her from this one.

What will happen between Flo and Jake, after she admitted making the wrong decision in the next episode preview? Will Lisa and Luke finally get romancing? Will Jarrod bring a pot plant? Will the producers become the next contestants on the island?
