Admittedly, your typical 7-Eleven is mostly associated with a pie, Coke and fags run at 4am in the morning.
However, tired of its lowbrow reputation, the global convenience store chain is apparently teaming with the world’s biggest sportswear company, Nike, to release a 7-Eleven inspired trainer.
Images of the mooted shoe are already circulating on sneaker fan sites with many calling it the most anticipated trainer launch of the year.
It comes on the back of recent news that a Nike-Dior trainer has had to be shelved as it was deemed a global pandemic was arguably not a suitable time to be releasing a shoe that retailed at $3300 (you can read B&T’s reporting on that here.)
The new Nike-7-Eleven trainer is called the Nike SB Dunk Low and features the Japanese-US-owned convenience stores’ famed orange, green and white colours and even a logo on the heel.
As yet, no launch date, pricing or availability has been revealed for a shoe expected to be on shelves sometime in 2020.
It’s not the first time Nike has branched out into odd cross-promotions. In recently collaborated with ice-cream make Ben & Jerry’s to launch the Nike SB Dunk Low Chunky Dunky that retailed for $A240.
A skate-focused trainer, the shoe was apparently modelled on Ben & Jerry’s famed Chunky Monkey flavour. Check it out below:
