Snapchat has found itself in strife after it ran an ad for an online gaming site that asked users if they’d rather “slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown”.
The ad clearly references a domestic violence assault between Brown and his then girlfriend, the pop singer Rihanna, in 2009.
Thankfully, the ad was quickly outed by users and removed by Snapchat. The company issuing a statement via a spokesperson that said: “The ad was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened.”
However, the online anger from people who viewed the ad was swift and just. Lead, interestingly enough, by none other than Chelsea Clinton.
