According to reports, Charlotte Valente, Seven West Media’s first chief marketing officer, is leaving the network.

The Australian Financial Review has reported that Seven staff have been informed that Valente is heading for the exits. Valente’s left the role after only three years.

The timing leaves a lot to be desired. Seven’s upfronts are on Tuesday, and you’d assume Seven West Media’s CMO would have had a significant role in the event.

Upfronts are a big deal because they allow the network to unveil plans for 2023 and sell themselves to advertisers and marketers.

Ironically, they’ll be doing this while losing their most senior marketer.

AFR reported that Seven’s big dog, James Warburton, sent an email to staff and wrote: “Charlie has done an amazing job during her time at SWM, pulling together a range of departments into a co-ordinated, go-to-market CMO division.”

Valente’s exit comes just weeks after Seven West Media’s chief people and culture officer, Katie McGrath announced she would be leaving the network.
