With the 2026 AFL Premiership Season set to kick off next week, the Seven Network has rolled its new on-air AFL campaign, a light-hearted look at how to “sell” the biggest season of footy yet.
Starring iconic caller and Seven broadcaster Bruce McAvaney as the network’s head of sport, the campaign sees McAvaney gather Seven’s commentary heavyweights to workshop the ultimate way to launch the season on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Joining him are Brian Taylor, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Nick Riewoldt, Matthew Richardson, Jason Richardson and 7NEWS chief football reporter Mitch Cleary, each bringing their own take on what makes footy fans tick.
The campaign includes cameos from Geelong’s Bailey Smith and comedian Aaron Gocs, adding to the fun in a piece packed with clever footy references the biggest AFL fans will instantly recognise… plus a special guest appearance by Home and Away favourite, Ray “Alf” Meagher.
The 2026 AFL action begins with the Sydney Swans v Carlton blockbuster at the SCG next Thursday, 5 March live and free from 7.00pm AEDT on Seven and 7plus Sport.
