SEEK Shows The Cost Of Wrong Hires In Campaign Via Droga5

SEEK has launched a humorous SME campaign with Droga5 ANZ promoting AI-powered recruitment tools.

Research conducted by SEEK, in partnership with Nature shows that hiring the wrong person can cost small businesses big. The wrong hire can cost a small business 26 per cent of an employee’s salary, and can have an even wider impact on the business.

SEEK offers SMEs, AI-powered tools to help them find the right candidates. From AI job ad writing that crafts ads in seconds, to AI-driven recommendations that surface the best candidates first and talent search that lets SMEs search for and contact talent directly.

Following on from the ‘SEEK and you shall find’ brand platform, this campaign adopts a similar ‘fish out of water’ construct, but this time told through the eyes of a small business owner in a mocumentary style format.

The campaign leans into humour but is still grounded in a real small and medium enterprise challenge: when you run a small business, every decision matters.

The campaign is live with three 30 second films that each showcasing how SEEK can help small businesses find candidate matches, fast.

It will run across broadcast video on demand, online video, radio, search, display, social, and SEEK-owned channels in both Australia and New Zealand.

SEEK chief marketing officer APAC, Maryanne Tsiatsias said: “SMEs are more time poor than ever before, and at SEEK we are always investing in product experiences that offer the best possible matching capability for SMEs to find the right person for their business. A wrestler in an antiques store is a light-hearted, entertaining way to visually demonstrate the impact a wrong hire can have – and exactly why having the right tools to find the right match matters so much.”

Droga5 ANZ creative director, Connor Beaver said: “Ricky the wrestler is a lovable guy, but he’s not quite the right fit for an antiques shop. We think these spots do a great job of highlighting how SEEK’s tools can really give SMEs a leg up in the hiring process – and we’ve loved working with the team at SEEK to bring them to life.”
