Former Mindshare CEO Nick Emery has found a new job after his sacking made global headlines last October.
London-based Emery has been appointed to launch a media division for the marketing technology agency You & Mr Jones.
You & Mr Jones Media claim to have a $US300m ($A387) war chest that the former Mindshare boss will be able to deploy as founding partner.
The new tech-centric media division is being called a “totally new media model” that aims to put brands “back in control of their media”.
Commenting on the role, Emery said: “We will make media the most creative, trusted and dynamic business to work in across everything from Marvel to Amazon, WeChat to Pinduoduo and Discord to Shopify.
“Media is a fantastic business to be in and I am delighted to be joining You & Mr Jones who have the rare ambition to make that happen and put clients back in control, making media as it should be, different, fun, inventive and a key source of client growth.”
Emery was sacked from his Mindshare role back in October after allegedly taking a Zoom call with senior Mindshare staff and showing his backside after taking the camera into the toilet.
Apparently it was all in jest, however, colleagues described the “prank” as “juvenile”, “idiotic”, “schoolboy” and “lavatorial”.
WPP bosses said Emery’s action were “inappropriate and offensive” and “a clear breach of the company’s code of conduct” and he was promptly given his marching orders.
