A Channel Nine report on a woman who murdered her partner using ram sedatives and a poison mixed in a Nutribullet took an eerie turn yesterday when the live report was momentarily interrupted by the creepy neighbour from 1990’s Home Alone.
Nine reporter Emma Partidge was reporting outside the NSW Supreme Court who’d just found Natasha Darcy guilty of murdering her partner Mathew Dunbar by drugging him and gassing him in his bed in a bid to inherit his $3.5 million farm.
A jury of 11 declared the 46-year-old mother guilty after deliberating for a week.
During yesterday morning’s news, the studio threw to Partridge for an update when a man – bearing an uncanny resemblance to Macaulay Culkin’s neighbour in Home Alone, Marley, played by the actor Roberts Blossom – entered the picture from seemingly nowhere.

What makes things even more intriguing is that Blossom died of cerebrovascular disease in 2011 at the age of 87.
Nine declined the opportunity to comment on B&T’s investigative piece.

What is even more intriguing is the actual murder itself.
Darcy claimed she found Dunbar in the early hours of August 2, 2017, with a plastic bag over his head and hooked up to a helium cylinder. She rang triple-zero and he was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The murderess, who the court heard had previously Googled “how to commit murder”, told investigating police that Dunbar had suicidal ideation bought on by a history of depression, financial worries and an “unclear sexual orientation”.

Darcy had also searched poisonous mushrooms and spiders online and Googled “lethal dose of oxycodone 200 pound male”, “acepromazine murder” and “can police see websites you visit on your mobile”.
Investigators revealed that the deceased was found with a concoction of ram sedatives, acepromazine, temazepam, clonidine and seroquel in his system. It was later revealed that Darcy had administered the mix to the victim via a Nutribullet.
Darcy had also embellished Dunbar’s apparent depression to friends and family and apparently had goaded her victim about the rafters in a shed not being high enough for him to hang himself.
Police later revealed that Darcy had tried to obtain large amounts of lethal poison from vets – one so alarmed they contacted police – while the gas used to kill her victim had been charged to her credit card.
B&T awaits a film being made of the whole sordid affair starring Nicole Kidman as the murderess and Hugh Jackman as her victim.
