Match & Wood, Nibble Edge and UnLtd are inviting Australians to ‘Go Red’ for Radio Lollipop, in a new fundraising campaign celebrating 40 years of bringing music and play to children in hospitals.
The volunteer-run children’s charity is launching its first Red Lollipop Day on 23 October, inviting communities across Australia to fundraise and support the next 40 years of its work.
Supporters can wear red socks, sell cupcakes, host a sausage sizzle, or plan any fun, red-themed activity to raise funds for children in hospital.
The campaign has been brought to life by Match & Wood, Nibble Edge and Finn Motion Media who have partnered with Radio Lollipop to amplify the fundraiser and encourage Australians to participate.
“The whole team at Match & Wood love working with Radio Lollipop. It’s been incredibly rewarding to use our media expertise to launch this new fundraiser and help amplify the incredible work Radio Lollipop does, bringing smiles and comfort to children when they need it the most,” Victoria Valova, national operations director, Match & Wood said.
Radio Lollipop delivers play and entertainment directly to children through its dedicated volunteers, serving 13 hospitals across Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia. Volunteers run ward-based activities and operate purpose-built studios where children can request songs, play games, and find moments of joy during some of their toughest days.
“Every night our volunteers become DJs, turning the studio microphone into a source of laughter and comfort for children in hospital. For those who cannot leave their wards, volunteers bring magic, bubbles, games, and music to the bedside, offering a welcome escape from pain and worry. The power of music and play is some of the best medicine we can give,” Melissa Sparta-Dawes, charity coordinator for Radio Lollipop said.
