Bunnings has reappointed PHD Aotearoa its NZ media agency following a competitive review, extending a partnership that has spanned 24 years.
The appointment reaffirms Westfarmers partnership with the Omnicom Oceania media agency. Recently, stablemate Officeworks moved from Initiative to PHD in Australia, while PHD Australia won the Bunnings Australia account from Initiative in 2025.
PHD Aotearoa’s 24 year partnership with Bunnings is one of the longest in the NZ market, helping the agency build a depth of understanding and accumulated knowledge of the client.
“Our partnership with Bunnings has endured because we’ve continued to evolve and challenge the work we produce together,” PHD Aotearoa chief executive Abby Parkin said.
“We’re incredibly proud of our 24-year partnership with Bunnings and grateful for the confidence they’ve continued to place in our team. The pitch process gave us a great opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve achieved together and time to build a vision for what’s to come,” adds Parkin.
PHD said that because it represents Bunnings on both sides of the Tasman, it enables greater strategic alignment, faster sharing of insights and innovations and consistent planning, while preserving locally led perspectives that reflect the unique dynamics of each country.
The result is “a more connected approach that helps Bunnings maximise the impact and efficiency of its media investment across the region”.
