Pepperstone Crypto and independent media agency Match & Wood have taken an unconventional route into Australia’s crowded crypto market.
They have staged a live, city-wide activation to launch Pepperstone Crypto’s giveaway of a Porsche 911 GTS, in partnership with men’s lifestyle publisher Boss Hunting.
On Sunday (October 25), the Porsche was driven through Sydney while a helicopter towing a Pepperstone Crypto banner tracked it from above.
The car, valued at an estimated $450,000 and supplied by McCarroll’s, followed a route from the Northern Beaches down the coast past Bondi, and across the harbour and the CBD. A second chase helicopter filmed the car and banner together, to produce a library of aerial and on-road footage.
Boss Hunting is releasing the footage as a content series across its platforms, including an advertorial on its website and reels, and carousels on Instagram and TikTok. The first instalment went live on Tuesday October 27 with more to follow over the coming weeks, and the campaign has prompted a strong early response which has already driven a spike in Pepperstone Crypto’s market share.
Pepperstone Crypto launched in Australia in February 2026 as “the local crypto alternative”. The Boss Hunting partnership, brokered by Match & Wood, is part of a wider launch campaign that began in July, including out-of-home advertising in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Entries for the giveaway close on 1 December, and the winner will be announced on 10 December.
James Logan, senior marketing manager, Pepperstone Crypto, said: “The Australian crypto market is crowded, and a lot of exchanges don’t make it past their first 12 months. We wanted to enter with impact and give Australians a reason to switch. Flying a Porsche giveaway over Sydney was a bold, public way of showing we’re here, and that we’re committed to being the local crypto alternative.”
Nina Leontaridis, senior marketing manager, Pepperstone, said: “Most of what goes into a launch campaign is what you would expect a brand to do, but this took us somewhere new. Partnering with Boss Hunting helped us reach new audiences in a way that hasn’t really been done before, and it feels like something a local brand would do rather than an international company entering the market.”
Cassandra Deegan, communications director, Match & Wood, said: “Pepperstone Crypto is launching into a crowded category, so they needed to stand out. Bringing Boss Hunting’s audience together with a stunt that people could see from the coast, the harbour and the city, gave the brand real cut-through. It’s been fantastic to work with the Pepperstone team on something this ambitious, and we’re proud of what we’ve created together.”
