Domain real estate is backtracking over its article claiming that the US president elect Donald Trump will be great for Australian home owners.

The article was original titled “The upside of a Trump presidency for Australia’s prestige homeowners”  which caused a lot of anger on social media. Since the anger the article has now been changed to “Agents await surge of US buyers following Donald Trump’s victory at the polls”.

“Australian property does well in times of global uncertainty because it is seen as a safe place to do business, it has an economy that is not as volatile as many of our neighbours and a stable government”, Craig Pontey, director of Ray White Double Bay is quoted in the story.

People are really unimpressed with Domain for celebrating Trump’s win, taking to Twitter and Facebook:

That tweet @domaincomau has now deleted pic.twitter.com/q6dgtQEafa

Hi @Groovy_Glen Thanks for your feedback. We agree the tone of the tag line was inappropriate so it has since been amended.
