oOh!media Comments On APN Outdoor Airport Win

Following APN Outdoor’s $10 million Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL) contract renewal this morning, an oOh!media spokesperson is assuring stakeholders the win will not impact oOh!’s other relationships.

In a statement to B&T, a spokesperson for oOh!media said: “oOh!media has been advised that SACL have exercised their renewal rights across the Sydney airport precinct, which includes the Qantas T3 terminal from 1 July 2019.”

Adding: “This renewal does not affect oOh!’s Qantas relationship which includes the Qantas Club and Business lounge opportunities nationally.”

Speaking on oOh!media’s own airport advertising, the spokesperson said: “oOh! also continues to deliver Airport advertising across 15 terminals, 17 lounges and 13 cities along with Qantas Inflight Entertainment opportunities, which continues to provide advertisers with a national and international solution that engages this valued audience.”

APN Outdoor’s renewal sees an extension of the outdoor company’s existing contract with Sydney Airport covering advertising assets across all domestic and international terminals plus external billboards approaching and within the Sydney Airport precinct.

Commenting on the reneewal, APN Outdoor chief executive officer and managing director, James Warburton said: “Sydney Airport is the gateway to Australia and we are very proud to be its advertising partner and delighted to be able to extend and expand our relationship with the airport.

Global outdoor media company JCDecaux reached a $1.2 billion deal to buy APN Outdoor for in June.

If cleared, JCDecaux will become the second largest outdoor advertising company in Australia behind oOh!media, which acquired fellow outdoor player Adshel for $570 million the weekend prior.
