NRL Shows Off New “Premium & Brand-Safe” Digital Network

The National Rugby League (NRL) has launched a bigger and better digital network for fans and advertisers, as it looks to combat its AFL rival.

The new network includes more articles, more videos, more podcasts, more images, more stats, and more features on all of its digital assets.

NRL.com, the 16 clubs, NSWRL and QRL digital assets have all been re-designed to give fans a premium experience with a cleaner look and improved navigation.

Fans can create a single, free account which will offer exclusive features and content, including extended highlights and full match replays.

Along with the new-look websites, the 19 apps for the NRL, clubs and states have been upgraded and are available on iOS and Android.

Fans are also able to sign up for an NRL account on the apps to unlock extra features, access more stories, receive special ticketing offers, and more.

Speaking to The Australian, NRL chief digital officer Rebekah Horne said that while the new network might have less ads, its represents a premium and brand-safe environment for brands to target consumers.

“We’re already majority sold out for next year on our advertising,” she said.
