Nivea has created a doll which turns sun-burnt red when its exposed to the sun without sunscreen.

On one of the most popular beaches in Brazil, Nivea Dolls (which are made from UV-sensitive material) were given to parents and children. Parents were able to use the Nivea Doll to show what happens if kids don’t use sunscreen.

“Protecting and caring is something we learn from an early age. This emotional bond is what this Nivea action offers,” Joanna Monteiro, creative vice president at FCB Brazil, said in a statement. “Through the magic of technology, children can see the sun’s effect on the skin of the doll.”

“The Nivea Doll combines fun at the beach with skincare education. It also helps a brand that has been around for a hundred years create an emotional relationship with new generations,” says Max Geraldo, creative vice president for FCB Brasil.
