Nine has used Wednesday night’s Upfronts to reveal to media and advertisers its news and current affairs plans for 2019.

From 5.00am, we present Nine News Early Edition with the latest in overnight breaking news from around the world.

At 5.30am Today, hosted by Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner. In 2019, Australia’s longest running breakfast television program will continue to bring viewers up-to-the-minute news, current affairs, sport, politics, entertainment, fashion, health and lifestyle from Australia and around the world. Weekend Today, hosted by Pete Stefanovic and Allison Langdon, will also return next year as the perfect way to kick-start your Saturdays and Sundays.

Sonia Kruger and David Campbell will be back with Today Extra in 2019, presenting a fresh and light-hearted look at social issues, fashion, entertainment and celebrity gossip from 9.00am each weekday.

Rounding out our morning schedule is Nine’s Morning News at 11.30am, with an emphasis on news out of Canberra and a look at how the financial markets are performing, as well as an update on the day’s breaking stories.

At 3.00pm, Amber Sherlock presents Nine News Now, giving you the news you need in an easy-to-digest format. It also features the hugely popular Chat Room segment where well- known Aussies debate the issues of the day that affect us all.

From 4.00pm, each capital city receives a localised bulletin of Nine’s Afternoon News, with detailed analysis of the issues affecting everyday Australians in their local communities.

This year, Nine News at 6.00pm is once again the most watched bulletin along the combined East Coast capitals of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. A

At 7.00 pm, A Current Affair, hosted by Tracy Grimshaw, rounds out our day-long coverage of news and current affairs.

Celebrating an historic 40th season in 2018, 60 Minutes remains Australia’s number one weekly public affairs program. Since it began in 1979, 60 Minutes has consistently set the benchmark when it comes to first-class, detailed reporting of the biggest stories, newsmakers and entertainers of our time.

And in 2019, we are proud to announce a brand new cutting-edge documentary crime series, Crime Story Investigation Australia. Led by Nine’s creative director for news and current Affairs, Mark Llewellyn, and produced by Nine, it will dissect some of the most infamous criminal cases from here and around the world in a tenacious, gripping and confronting format. It’s true crime like you’ve never seen before.

In digital, Nine.com.au continues to build its news audience and drive growth as one of the top news sites in Australia, with a monthly unique audience of 8.4 million in September.
