Seven Media Group has appointed Nick Bower to the newly created role of commercial director, sport – TV, audio and streaming.
The appointment unifies the network’s television and audio sport sales into a single team, establishing an integrated commercial structure across the Seven Media Group.
Bower is a senior commercial executive with over 20 years of experience driving revenue and commercial partnerships across Australia and the Asia-Pacific. He re-joins Seven from Paramount Australia and New Zealand, where he served as general manager – ad sales and sport sales director.
His background includes executive leadership roles including senior vice president of partnerships at Football Marketing Asia, vice president of ad sales and partnerships (APAC and Middle East) at Fox Sports, and international commercial consultancy with True Digital Group.
Across his career, Bower has led commercialisation across broadcast, digital, and streaming for marquee sporting properties including the AFL, Olympic Games, Australian Open, and Formula 1.
He previously spent 10 years within the Seven network across sport sales, sponsorships, and senior commercial management.
The strategic move gives advertisers and partners a unified point of access to Seven Media Group’s full sport portfolio, making it easier to invest across platforms and unlock the full scale of the combined group.
In his new remit, Bower will maximise sports revenue, drive genuine cross-screen and cross-audio integration, and build Australia’s leading sport partnership models. Sport will be packaged around audiences and fans, delivering integrated propositions that connect brands with sport lovers wherever they watch, listen, read, or scroll.
Building on the previous model, the group’s sport production team has already demonstrated the strength of a group-wide approach, delivering powerful cross-platform promotion and talent across its most valuable content. This appointment applies that same unified approach directly to commercial operations.
Bower will lead sports sales teams across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. In this role, he will work closely with Chris Jones, Seven’s director of sport – TV, audio and streaming, to ensure commercial opportunities and broadcast and production strategies align from the outset.
He will also partner closely with legal and executive teams on key code rights negotiations and high-level partner relationships, including key collaborators.
Natalie Harvey, Seven Media Group’s chief revenue officer, said the consolidated commercial approach reflects how modern audiences consume live sport and entertainment.
“No one in Australia can put a brand inside sport the way we can. We’ve got the big live moments, the conversation on either side of them, and the data that tells us who’s actually in the room. Nick’s the right person to bring that together and make it simple for brands to get close to the culture fans care about,” she said.
“He’s also a genuine leader. He backs his people, sets a high bar and has a team around him that’s hungry to show the market what this business can do. Working hand in hand with Chris Jones and his incredible production team, who bring our sport to life for millions of Australians every week, there’s no limit to what we can create for our partners. He’s got big ambitions for this, and so do I.”
Commenting on his appointment, Bower said: “Sport has an extraordinary ability to bring people together and connect brands with moments that matter. What excites me about joining Seven Media Group right now is not only their phenomenal sports rights line up, but also the opportunity to work alongside the talented team, who deliver unrivalled sports content—something I know first-hand, having spent 10 years of my career at Seven.
“So returning to the network is particularly special. Now the opportunity to connect audiences and brands across sport, television, streaming and audio—including Triple M, which I’m a fan of as a listener—opens up the most exciting possibilities to create innovative partnerships, deliver greater value for clients and drive commercial growth for Seven Media Group and its partners.”
Bower starts in early 2027 and will report to Harvey.
